ACADEMY NEWS

Our official blog for Canadian Academy Sharing our experiences & achievements.

Canadian Drone Academy was contacted by Girls Scouts Ontario to help facilitate our introduction to drones 101 STEM learning program at LEAP 2019. We spent 5 days teaching 250+ Girl Scouts how to fly drones at Doe Lake Camp in Ontario. 25 campers had 2.5 hours with our expert pilots who taught them the basics of how drones work & how STEM relates to each part of the drone. Students get to try & fly with our simulators, then progress to flying the drone's "line of sight" and graduate to piloting with VR googles.  Girls from every province in Canada, even some from the UK attended our drone courses, learning about Aerospace & Engineering all while having the most fun at camp!

Near Huntsville, Doe Lake Camp features an expansive waterfront and trail system on 641 acres of property. The waterfront plays host to several boating programs and a sandy beach that is terrific for swimming and sandcastles. An amazing high-ropes course and climbing wall have been favorite spots for campers. Doe Lake has been creating happy camper memories for almost 70 years!
